U.S. President Barack Obama delivers commencement speech at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.
ATLANTA, GEORGIA, UNITED STATES (MAY 19, 2013) (RESTRICTED POOL) - U.S. President Barack Obama delivered a commencement address Sunday (May 19) at Morehouse College in Atlanta, encouraging graduates to set an example for the country and help out their communities.
Obama noted the Atlanta school's mission to cultivate young men and told graduates they are graduating in a time of opportunity."You're graduating into an improving job market, you're living into a time when advances in tele-technology and communication put the world at your fingertips. Your generation is uniquely poised for success unlike any generation of African-Americans that came before," Obama said.
The audience withstood rains with many wearing clear plastic ponchos over their suits for the outdoor ceremony to listen to Obama's second commencement address of the season. He spoke last Sunday (May 12)at Ohio State University in Columbus and will address U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland on Friday (May 24).
